Thomas J. Loven, 65, of Scranton died Friday at Geisinger CMC following a lengthy illness.

Born Oct. 11, 1952, in Scranton, he was the son of the late Walter J. and Mary L. (Rafter) Loven. Before his retirement, Tom was employed by EMS of Northeast Pennsylvania for 25 years. He was formerly district manager of the Boy Scouts of America in Scranton and Medina, N.Y.

Tom was an active member of Immaculate Conception Church in Scranton and served as a lector for many years. He was also a member of the Moscow Volunteer Fire Company.

Surviving are his brothers, Walter J. Loven and wife, Julie, of New Hyde Park, N.Y.; James F. Loven and wife, Kathy, of Scranton; and Peter M. Loven and wife, Mary, of Scranton; his sisters, Mary Maroon of Scranton, Peggy Apgar and husband, David, of Kutztown; Rebecca Loven of Emmaus, Rosie Buikus of Easton and Victoria Loven of Breinigsville; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and cousins.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated:
Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, 801 Taylor Ave., Scranton.

Interment will be conducted privately in Cathedral Cemetery on the family plot.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to:
The Boy Scouts of America or to a local volunteer fire company in Tom’s memory.

    I am so sorry to hear of Tom’s passing. I knew Tom for many years
    before I worked with him for many more years. He and I spent alot of
    time talking about me and Pete’s time in the drum and bugle corps. My
