Joan A. Davis
January 24, 2017
Joan A. Davis of Scranton passed away peacefully at the Jewish Home of Eastern Pa. in Scranton following a brief illness. She was the widow of Ronald Davis, who passed away Jan. 17, 2012. The couple was married 53 years.
Born on Aug. 24, 1928 in Dickson City, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Anna Walsh Eley. She was a graduate of Dickson City High School and, prior to her retirement, was employed as an audiology technician. Later, she used her personal struggle and victory over cancer to become involved in Facing Cancer Together, a support group. A dedicated volunteer for 30 years, Joan spent countless hours supporting others through their own struggles. Joan was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Patrick’s Church in Scranton. She had a wonderful sense of humor and truly enjoyed life. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Surviving are her nephew and niece who were her caregivers, Thomas and Lisa Davis, of Clarks Summit; nephew, Bradley Davis, of Old Forge; several other nieces and nephews; and many close friends.
