Jean Hurst, 87, of Scranton died Sunday morning at her home following an illness. She is the widow of James T. “Red” Hurst, who died Oct. 17, 2002.

Born Sept. 16, 1929, in Norfolk, England, U.K., she was the daughter of the late Eric and Martha (Parling) Yeoman. Jean was a longtime member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Scranton.

Surviving are her daughters, Linda J. Masters and husband, Tom, of Scranton; and Leslie A. Hughes and husband, Tom, of Pittston; her son, James T. Hurst Jr. and wife, Kimberly, of Las Vegas, N.V.; four grandchildren, Sandra Masters, Thomas W. Masters Jr., Christina M. Hughes and Thomas Hughes; three great-grandchildren, Alexandria, Isabella and Thomas James. Jean is also survived by her sisters, Sandra, Lesley, Wendy and Valeria; and her brother, Barry “Podge” Yeoman, all residing in the United Kingdom.

She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Haley and Betty, and her brother, Eric “Hookie” Yeoman.

A Mass will be celebrated on:
Thursday at 10 a.m. in St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 232 Wyoming Ave., Scranton.

Friends may call on:
Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Howard J. Snowdon Funeral Home, 1810 Sanderson Ave., Scranton.

Interment will be conducted at Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst Twp.
