Betty Jane Burnside, 93, a resident of St. Mary’s Villa Nursing Home, and formerly of Clifton Twp., died Sunday morning following an illness. She is the widow of Alex T. Burnside, who died Sept. 19, 2012.

Born Oct. 1, 1924 in Moosic, she was the daughter of the late Alvia and Sarah (Bailey) Correll. Betty Jane was a longtime member of the Gouldsboro United Methodist Church.

The family would like to extend thanks to the nurses and staff at St. Mary’s Villa for their kind and compassionate care to Betty Jane.

Surviving are her daughter, Betty Jane “Becky” Stout and husband, Theodore, of Clifton Twp.; her son, John A. Burnside and wife, Marge, of High Point, N.C.; five grandchildren, Douglas A. Stout and wife, Linda; Heather Loomis and husband, David; Alex Stout and wife, Stacey; Shawn C. Burnside and wife, Ayla; and Megan Ellison and husband, Joshua; five great-grandchildren, Ava R. Stout, Ruby Stout, Isabella Burnside, Trevor Stout and Vivian Stout; nieces and nephews.

Betty Jane was preceded in death by her sisters, Dorothy McGay and Vera Stull; and her brother, Alvia Correll.

Funeral services will be conducted:
Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Duffy & Snowdon Funeral Home, 401 Church St., Moscow, with Pastor Peg Knapich as officiating clergy.

Interment and committal will be conducted at Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst Twp.

Friends may call on:
Wednesday from 9 until 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
