Barbara P. Abas

|Barbara P. Abas, 77, of Scranton and formerly of Madison Twp., died Saturday at the Green Ridge Health Care Center in Scranton after an illness. She was the widow of Matthys Abas, who died in 2015.
Born Feb. 12, 1940 in Sanford, Fla., daughter of the late John R. and Edith Smith Payne, Barbara was employed as a medical secretary before her retirement. Barbara was a member of the Moscow United Methodist Church and attended the Hollisterville Baptist Church. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and was a member of the bell ringers at the Green Ridge Health Care Center.
Barbara loved traveling and was very dedicated to her friends, and especially her family, who she dearly loved.
Barbara’s family would like to extend thanks to the Green Ridge Health Care Center and the VNA Hospice for their wonderful care and love shown to Barbara.
Surviving are her daughter, Linda G. Martini and husband, Paul, Madison Twp.; her son, Raymond Dekle and wife, Karen, Sterling Twp.; two grandchildren, Edward Dekle and Evelyn Dekle.
