Barbara A. Montgomery, 77, of Dalton died Monday at her home following an illness. Her husband is J. William Montgomery II. She was born Sept. 26, 1939 in Scranton. She was the daughter of the late Arthur and Marion Hochreiter.

Barbara was a longtime member of the Providence United Presbyterian Church in Scranton. She enjoyed working in her flower gardens and taking care of the children in her family.

The visits from her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the joy of her life.

The family would like to thank Traditional Hospice and Allied In-Home for their services and care.

Surviving in addition to her husband are her children, Tamara L. Pierre of East Benton Twp., Dawn A. Richards of Dalton and J. William Montgomery III and wife, Penny, of Lake Kasoag, N.Y.; her grandchildren, J.D. Pierre, Chris Pierre, J. William Montgomery IV, Neil A. Montgomery, Nicole Levensailor, Neil Levensailor, Nancy Levensailor and Daniel W. Richards; six great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Barbara was also preceded in death by her brothers, Russell and Edward Hochreiter.

Funeral services will be conducted:
Friday at 10 a.m. in the Providence United Presbyterian Church, 1145 Providence Road, Scranton, with the Rev. Dr. Murray Thompson, pastor, as officiating clergy.

Interment will be conducted at Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst Twp.

Friends may call on:
Thursday from 4 until 8 p.m. in the Howard J. Snowdon Funeral Home, 1810 Sanderson Ave., Scranton.
